WHEREAS, the University of West Florida Board of Trustees (“UWF” or University)and the United Faculty of Florida, University of West Florida Chapter (“UFF”) are engaging in 2007-2008 contract re-opener negotiations, and

WHEREAS, the parties have agreed upon some matters that may require action prior to ratification of the re-opened provisions, and

WHEREAS, the parties do not wish to delay implementation until after ratification of the re-opened provisions,

NOW THEREFORE, the parties, for and in consideration of the mutual benefits and obligations herein set forth, have entered into this Memorandum of Understanding, and agree as follows:

Faculty Promotions

The faculty members who received promotion notifications during Spring, 2007, will receive promotional increases in an amount equal to 9.0% of the faculty member’s base salary rate as of May 7, 2007 in recognition of promotion from Assistant Professor or Assistant University Librarian to Associate Professor or Associate University Librarian or from Associate Professor or Associate University Librarian to Professor or University Librarian. These promotional increases shall be effective on August 8, 2007.
